 Little FOLC’s Preschool

 Parent Handbook 2006

Philosophy

We recognize each child as a worthwhile, unique individual.  We strive to foster in each child a healthy self-concept to the benefit of the child, the family and the community.

We provide a safe environment for children to learn about themselves and the world in which God has placed them.  We offer a Biblically-based Christian educational experience designed to stimulate and enhance each child’s social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development.  We believe children learn best through play, and have designed a program which balances free play and structured interactive activities.

 Services provided

 Pre-school for 2 or 3  mornings a week from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. for pre-kindergarten, toilet-trained children ages 3, 4 and 5.

 Daily program

The daily program offers large group activities, small group activities, times for self-motivated activities and times for teacher-directed activities. Daily activities include games, music, story time, art and free play.   Free play centers include: large and small blocks, housekeeping, dress-up, sand and water table, art easels, trucks and cars, puzzles, and books.) Activities in Bible, math, language arts, art, science and gym will also be included. The daily schedule also allows for basic routines and transition times such as: arrival and departure, snacks, self-help skills such as toileting, dressing for outdoor play, learning to wash hands, and cleanup.
